Fight For Your Family
“Fight for your family. Because no one else will.” - @waynecordeiro (Leading on Empty).
As a mom - little did we know that “fight for your family” would actually mean “fight for yourself” in order to SHOW UP and fight for your family.
Truth? That’s how I feel every day.
I have to put up a guard.
Protect my peace.
Move my body.
Eat to fuel my energy over my depression.
And practice positive mindset work as much as possible.
I have to fight for me first.
So then - I can fight for my family.
Maybe you can relate to that?
I’ve shared my story consistently for nearly 4.5 years because I know there’s another mama out there that needs to hear, read and see that others are on the same page.
That being a mom isn’t just butterflies. And rainbows. And joyful, filtered IG pictures.
My feelings.
My perspective.
My truth.
I share my story loudly because I never want another mama to suffer in silence. NEVER.
Motherhood is HARD and confusing. It’s joyful and dreadful. It’s filled with change and anxiety and confusion and overwhelming amounts of conflicting feelings at all times. My hope and prayer is that my truth gives you wings. And insight into knowing you are NOT alone in any and all the feelings you have. And above all, you and all you feel are 100% valid - always.
I’m a Mom of 4 - failing forward daily as I fight for myself and my wellness so I can fight for my family.
I know they deserve the best of me.
Not the rest of me.
Which isn’t always easy to deliver on.
But I REFUSE to lead and fight for them on empty. Something I’m learned so much from reading this book. I HIGHLY recommend diving into it if you’re feeling the need to reboot and refocus on what matters most to you!
