Boundaries For Mental Health

Over the weekend, I came across this incredibly powerful quote that I can’t get out of my head…

“Our capability is not determined by our current capacity.”

It hit me like a ton of bricks.

How often as women and as mothers do we let ourselves say “If I don’t have the capacity than I must not be capable. I’m not worthy of it. I’m not enough.” Sister - nothing could be further than the truth.

As I continue to unpack this little dose of inspiration, I’m finding that it truly applies to so many aspects of our lives. We have to keep leaning in and learning from one another - changing the narrative around why BOUNDARIES are so powerful and why they matter to our wellness.

The truth is - we all have a capacity. We are not meant to do it all and be it all and get it all done, all at once for all the people. That’s not real life. And while I know we fight against that societal expectation, let’s keep working to push our default to boundaries and knowing that the capacity we have in our current season has nothing to do with our overall capability.
